About Chaotic Tails
Chaotic Tails is a free website of party games for friend groups. One person opens a room, everyone joins from their own phone with a code, and you play together, whether you are sitting in one room or on a video call.
Who makes it
Chaotic Tails is made and run by Armaan Mittal in India. It started in October 2026 as Word Race, a Wordle you play live against friends, and has grown one game at a time since. The same person builds the games, puts together the questions and reads the messages sent through the contact form.
What is here
There are 25 games, from Draw & Guess and Imposter to Trivia, Word Race, Auction and Last Card, for 2 to 30 players. Chaotic Cocktail mixes quick rounds from all of them. Each game has its own guide page with the rules, how long a round takes, how many people it suits and tips for playing it well. There are also two daily puzzles for playing alone, a full rules page for Word Race and a page of tested Wordle starting words.
The games are made for Indian friend groups first: Bollywood songs and films, cricket, Indian cities and states, prices in rupees and numbers in lakh and crore. Anyone can play them.
Where the content comes from
- Questions and word lists are written for the site or picked from open lists. Some trivia questions come from the Open Trivia Database.
- Facts used in Order Order! come from public sources such as the Census of India, and every source is listed on the credits page.
- Music Guess plays 30-second previews from Apple Music, with a link to the full song. Photo Finish uses openly licensed pictures, each credited by name.
- Found a wrong answer? Tell us through the contact form and it gets fixed.
Free, and how it is paid for
Every game is free and needs no sign-up. There is nothing to buy and no game is locked. Running the rooms costs money, so Chaotic Tails shows a small number of ads from Google: on the home and guide pages, and inside a room only between games, such as in the lobby and on the results. An ad never appears during a round you are playing, never in a host's first room, and never covers the game. The privacy page explains what the ads mean for your data.
Questions
The short answers. Each game's rules are one tap away inside a room: tap the game's name at the top.
How do I play games with friends online here?
Type your name and tap Start a game night. Send the five-character code or the link to your friends. When everyone is in, the host picks a kind of night and starts it. To play just one game, the host switches to One game and picks it.
Is it free?
Yes, every game. There is no sign-up, no download and no limit on how much you play.
How many people can play?
Up to 30 people can be in a room. Each game has its own range: Code Words needs 4, Telephone and Imposter need 3, Word Race, Trivia and Reaction work even alone.
What is a game night?
The host picks a kind of night: Quick, Standard, Big night, Endless or Tournament, and a mood, and the site lines up games that fit the group. Every game adds room points to one table for the night. In a Tournament the bottom players are knocked out after each game until two play the final. Chaotic Cocktail is a night of its own: one quick challenge at a time, from every game, and fail one and you are out until one is left.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Every game is built for touch screens as well as keyboards, and phones and laptops can share one room. A dropped connection or a refresh puts you back where you were.
Do we need to be on a call?
No, but it is more fun. Every game works with the room chat, and Imposter, Code Words and Draw & Guess are even better when you can hear each other.
Can we play it on a TV?
Yes. On the TV or laptop everyone can see, open the site's /tv page and type the room code (the host finds it under ••• › Show on a TV). The big screen shows the questions, the answers, the scores and every reveal, and everyone keeps playing on their own phone.
Keeping rooms friendly
Rooms are private to the people with the code. Abusive names are turned down and abuse in chat is starred out, the host can remove a player, and anyone can report someone's behaviour through the contact form. A room and everything said or drawn in it is deleted a day after it was last used. The terms and the grievance officer's details are on the terms page.
